in design, engineering, execution and management of large-scale petrochemical
and other industrial sector projects (notably Methanol, Ammonia,
Urea and Formaldehyde / derivatives plants, steel rolling mills,
panel boards / laminates / flooring materials, MDF / HDF
manufacturing facility etc.).
Dr. Bajpai had been a zealous promoter of Indian Technological expertise,
manufacturing capabilities and human resource skills in the Middle East over 17
years.
QUALIFICATIONS
1972 First-class Graduate in CHEMICAL
ENGINEERING from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University,
India with specialization in Petroleum Refinery Engineering and Design of
Primary Reformer Furnaces. Meritorious (throughout First-Class) educational
career.
Awarded Ph.D. in Chemical Process Technology by Ecole Superieure Sorbonne University, France.

Founded in 1989, Saudi Formaldehyde Chemical
Co Ltd is a private sector manufacturer of 300,000 MTPY Formaldehyde /
Derivative products including Aqueous Formaldehyde, Urea Formaldehyde,
Hexamine, Paraformaldehyde, UF / MF Liquid and Powder Resins and SNF /
SMF Superplasticizers. The Company has set up around 18 plants in over a decade
of its existence and is considered to be one of the most progressive
petrochemical manufacturers in the region, employing “State-of- the-Art”
technologies from M/S HaldorTopsoe A/S (Denmark), M/s Libra A.P.L. (India), M/S
Tech-kno Thermosets (U.K.) and M/S APV Nordic Anhydro (Denmark).
T. Bajpai joined the company at its inception
as Projects / Operations Manager in-charge of setting up the company,
envisioning various projects, executing the same and ensuring their successful
completion and sustained profitable operations. The company is currently valued
at US$ 360 Million.
Setting up of SFCCL including its fast track growth and phenomenal
development is a career milestone of Dr. Bajpai.

Established in 1997, UGS operates 450,000 MTPY
Steel Rolling Mill producing long products based on state-of-the-art technology
from M/S SIMAC / SMS SCHLOEMANN SIEMAG (Italy / Germany). Alongside the
owner of the MANSO Group (ShaikhMazen K. Allahiq), T. Bajpai was involved in
the conception, formulation of implementation strategy, execution and
subsequent productive operations of this prestigious US$ 100 Million project.
The Mill produces sectional steel products in the range of 40mm to 220 mm
including angles, channels beams, square bars, etc. The Company had an annual
turnover of US$ 290 Million.

Founded in 1998, this company manufactures 5.4
Million Decorative Laminate Sheets per year of High Pressure / Compact
Laminates, Continuous Pressed Laminates, Melamine Faced Chipboard Laminates and
Decorative Laminated Panels based on Continuous Press Technology availed from M/S
Hymmenand M/S VITS (Germany). T. Bajpai was responsible for
techno-economic feasibility evaluation, conception and implementation of the
project & oversaw the successful commissioning and commercial operations of
this 50 Million U.S. Dollar modern facility, with an annual turnover of US$ 60
Million.

I. METHANOL / AMMONIA PLANTS
Full operational and managerial responsibility
of Methanol (120 MTPD) and Ammonia (900 MTPD) Plants based on the technology of
M/s HaldorTopsoe A/S, including process control, plant management and execution
of debottlenecking / revamp schemes.
Was also In-charge of “Gas Conversion Project”
to convert the Methanol/Ammonia Plants to “Bombay High Natural Gas” replacing
Naphtha.
II. 2 X 1350 MTPD AMMONIA PLANTS OF RCF (THAL UNIT)
Super
Fertilizer Complex.
Responsible as Project Manager and
subsequently as Operations Manager for RCF’s US$ 400 Million
Mega Thal Fertilizer Project.–the first Super Fertilizer Complex based on
Bombay High Gas / HBJ Pipeline.
Functions included overall supervision of the
project for completion of basic design /engineering, detailed engineering,
procurement, financial tie-ups with international agencies,
erection /construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities
leading to timely completion of RCF’s 2 x 1350 MTPD capacity prestigious Super
Ammonia Plants based on technology from M/s HaldorTopsoe A/S, Denmark.
Was deputed to M/S HaldorTopsoe A/S,
Denmark during the entire basic engineering work and was actively involved
as owner’s representative in design /engineering of all process reactors,
furnaces, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, drive turbines and
utility units and approval thereof.
Also supervised detailed engineering work at
the offices of Projects Development India Limited, Baroda (India) apart
from management of all procurement and shipping activities.
Received training at the DCS facility
of M/S Taylor Instrumentation (Stevenage, U.K.) in Distributed Digital
Control Systems.
In-charge of financial negotiations with
several international credit agencies and financial institutions.
Successful implementation of the Super Fertilizer Project of RCF at
Thalon schedule and withinallocated budget (INR 880 Crores) is
one of the major career accomplishmentof T. Bajpai.
SHRI RAM CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES

Process Engineer.
Worked as Process Engineer in the 600 MTPD
Ammonia Plant. Duties included process control and operation of Steam Naphtha
Reforming based Ammonia Plant using HaldorTopsoe Process and Built by M/S
CHIYODA CORPORATION (JAPAN), along with regular monitoring of plant data with a
view to effect improvements towards more streamlined and efficient operation of
the plant. A number of process modifications and improvements were carried out
to achieve greater operational ease and functional economics.Erection and
commissioning experience was also gained during the expansion of the plant from
450 to 600 MTPD capacity.
